First Day of School
A first day for anyone can be extremely difficult and stressful; as adults, we can rationalise the situation, and we understand the reason why we are in the new place and most importantly, when we can go home. For children, this can be difficult. In order to minimise the stress for everyone, we would encourage you to follow the steps below to ensure a smooth transition period.

The children are at the center of all we do.
On the first day, we ask that parents and caregivers offer a warm, confident goodbye at the door. A brief and positive farewell rather than a prolonged one helps your child settle in more quickly and with greater ease. We kindly ask that parents and caregivers trust in our teachers from the very beginning. Prior to the first day, we encourage families to talk with their child about what to expect at school, familiar routines and a little preparation can go a long way in helping them feel confident and ready for this exciting new chapter.
If your child has attended school before...
Even if your child has previous school experience, starting at a new school is still a fresh and unfamiliar experience for them. Every environment is different, and it's natural for children to need a little extra reassurance during this transition. To help build their confidence before the first day, we encourage parents to share pictures of the school with their child and talk through the daily routines they will be following. Familiarity with their new surroundings even before they arrive can make a wonderful difference in how settled and excited they feel walking through the door.

Our Spaces
SKY Library
Step into a world of words, wonder, and imagination at the SKY Library. This warm and inviting space is thoughtfully designed to nurture a love of reading and storytelling from the very earliest years. Children are immersed in rich language experiences through picture books, interactive storytelling sessions, and meaningful conversations that build vocabulary, comprehension, and confident communication. Here, every story opens a new door to discovery.
A Day in the Life of a Star
For our remarkable learners aged 5 to 6 years old
Our Stars are the oldest, most accomplished members of the SKY family and they know it, in the very best way. At 5 to 6 years old, children arrive at a stage of genuine readiness: ready to lead, ready to think deeply, ready to take on real challenge, and ready to make their mark on the world around them. They are forming lasting friendships, developing a strong sense of identity, and beginning to understand that their ideas, their efforts, and their character truly matter. Every part of the Stars' day at SKY has been designed to honour that readiness to challenge, inspire, and prepare them not just for primary school, but for a lifetime of curious, confident, and purposeful learning.
Stars arrive with purpose and presence. By this age, the morning routine is second nature children transition independently, greet their teachers and friends with warmth, and settle into the start of the day with the ease and confidence of experienced learners. These morning moments are quietly powerful, building the self-management skills that will serve them well for years to come.

Every moment of the Stars' day is a preparation for greatness not in a distant, abstract sense, but most immediately and joyfully possible.
We are profoundly honoured to walk alongside your child in this final, extraordinary chapter of their preschool journey. The world is ready for your Star and we have loved every moment of helping them get ready for it.
